Let Imaginations Take Flight.
Wednesday, January 23, 2008,

the decisive hour.

around 12.15 pm tml. i will be standing in front of the lt giving my 7 minutes worth of presentation, to the panel of critics, and as much as i hope that it would go smoothly, i know it wont.

asking myself questions about my project stirs up major talking points of my project. haha. guess i just gotta prepare for it then.

anyway i bet i will be so nervous tml. even though i presented hell loads of time already, tml is different because its fyp, its a project im committed to, and mostly, its a project that will make or break me.

i have not received recognition for what i have done and im willing to prove it wrong. hopefully, by the end of tomorrow, i will be the victor and stand tall.

WAHAHAH. crap. lol . anyway wat im looking forward to is sushi buffet tml. I hope presentation wont be delayed too long cos i really don wanna miss the buffet with the iad peeps.

so yeah..

added note.

the anime i watched/been watching grows.

just watched finish gundam 00 episode 15. ah. despite some early disappointments in the series, this episode is hemming it up. though i dont like the suggestion that 3 new gundams just gonna bail them out in the next episode. abit the climatical anti-climax.

this new word, invented by me means:

it is a climax, because it hits the high point of the show, yet it is anti climax because its so cliched.

anyway. i list down.

ef-a tale of memories (completed)
sola (completed)
byousoku 5cm (completed)
the place promised in our early days (completed)
voices of a distant star (completed)
gundam 00 (ongoing)
shigofumi (ongoing)

picked up shigofumi recently, and its not bad. at first thought gonna be a philophisical and chill out kind of show, was quite surprised at the turn of events towards the end of the opening episode.

and i list down anime i watched since young until now.

digimon series(digimon adventure to digimon savers)
pokemon(if u count this as a series, but i gave up on it a long long time ago. its so stupid. always same storyline)
love hina (completed)
love hina again (completed)
one piece (gave up)
bleach (gave up)
gundam seed (completed)
gundam seed destiny (completed)
gundam seed stargazer (completed)
full metal alchemist (completed)
shaman king (gave up)

so with the list of anime i watched, i find it deeming that i post something like a mini awards show. o_o. haha inspired by the otaku blogs around. except that my awards are for anime that i watched so far.

Best Action: Gundam 00.
runner up: full metal alchemist

i know this sound stupid. because the show is still ongoing, but somehow i am a fan of gundam. and it just edges fma out even though fma is a good anime.

Best Soundtrack and Music: Ef a tale of memories
runner up: the place promised in our early days

this is a tight one. but ef just edges past. well. both anime' music are composed by TENMON, and there is no surprise. his music is great and somehow i preferred the climatic ups and downs of ef.

Best Animation: Byousoku 5cm
runner up: the place promised in our early days

this is a clear winner. its animation is of the highest quality, and its animation of the trains and stations and buildings puts our viz rendering to shame. both firms again, are directed by makoto shinkai, a master in storytelling concepts of distance and background animation and colours.

Best Art Direction: Ef a tale of memories
runner up: Byousoku 5cm

no challenges for this one. the use of monotonous tones to depict the story of miyako, the music to complement the situations, the use of metaphors, the use of powerful colours and photoshopping makes this one clear winner.

Best story: Sola
runner up: the place promised in our early days, ef a tale of memories

sola is an extremely enjoyable anime with plot twists here and there that you cannot foresee. its such a great anime . writer of kanon + designer of da capo 2 (im gonna pick up one of these popular series soon) = great combo.

i had to include 2 runner ups because i simply cant choose between the 2.

Honourable mention: digimon savers and love hina

after a 3 year absence from digimon, the series is back, with a whole new target audience and style. targetted at the teens, i think its one show i thoroughly enjoyed watching in 2007. love hina is the first "teen anime" i watched and its lure is amazing.

Overall Best Anime: Sola
runner up: Ef a tale of memories

despite me proclaiming that ef was the best i watched, then came sola. 2 million japanese cant be wrong voting it as the best anime of 2007, and i cant be wrong joining them either.

ok... so u think the awards are over. but theres still the worst anime awards.

Worst Action: Shaman King
runner up: one piece

enough said. jpg moving animation, cut and paste from manga, distorted images. nothing else i can comment.

Worst soundtrack and music: pokemon.
runner up: none.

LOL. other than the first season classic, gotta catch them all. this series songs sucks. big time.

Worst Animation: One piece
runner up: Gundam Seed Destiny
the animation simply destroyed one of the greatest manga of all time. being such an avid reader of the manga, it disappoints me alot. truly. and gsd is really disappointing.

Worst Story: Shaman king
runner up: pokemon

alright. an anime that shows alot of promise at the start just like the manga, only to end abruptly and so shockingly . it really is a no brainer. for pokemon. every episode goes like this. ash and his friends are on a new journey. and they get caught by team rocket. den somehow some pokemon beefed up and send team rocket flying again. how original!

Overall Worst Anime: Shaman King
runner up: One piece.

period.
